What Are Dental Implants?

A dental implant is a small titanium post placed within the jaw to restore the missing roots of a tooth. The titanium posts are biocompatible and fuse with the surrounding bone tissue, creating a stable foundation for an implant-supported restoration. Dr. Planes custom designs each restoration to match the aesthetics of your natural teeth, seamlessly restoring the gap in your smile.
We Guarantee You'll Love Your Smile!

Dental implants are the next best thing to having healthy, natural teeth. Whether you need to replace one tooth or an entire arch of teeth, dental implants provide the most secure foundation for your custom restoration. Unlike most dentists, Dr. Planes is trained to both place and restore dental implants giving you convenient access to every step of treatment. Dr. Planes is so sure you will benefit from dental implants that he guarantees his work for five years while you are coming in for active maintenance visits. Furthermore, when you decide to move forward with treatment after your free consultation, you will receive $500 off the total cost of your implants. Schedule your appointment today at one of our office locations in Vero Beach, Port St. Lucie, or Tradition, FL. You can reach us online or by calling:

Explore Your Candidacy

Patients in the greater Vero Beach, FL, area can find out if they qualify for dental implants by making a complimentary consultation at our dentist's office. During the appointment, Dr. Planes will perform a comprehensive oral health examination and determine if treatment is right for you. In order to be a good candidate, patients need:

  • Healthy gums
  • Sufficient jawbone density to support implants
  • Commitment to good oral hygiene and regular dental visits
  • Ability to undergo surgery
  • No chronic diseases that increase the risk of complications
  • To be a non-smoker

What If I Don't Qualify for Traditional Dental Implants?

Don't Worry We Offer All-On-4!

All-On-4 implants

If you have sustained bone recession after long-term tooth loss, you may still be able to get dental implants. While Dr. Planes can supplement a patient's jaw tissue with a bone graft, some people wish to save time and skip over preparatory procedures.

With the All-on-4® dental implant technique, it is possible! This treatment restores a full implant denture with just four implant posts, strategically placed to take advantage of existing bone tissue. All-on-4 patients may be able to save money by forgoing prep work and receiving fewer implants per dental arch. Find out if you qualify for All-on-4 by scheduling a consultation at our Vero Beach practice.

The Implant Treatment Process

Using innovative digital planning technology, we craft custom surgical guides to improve the accuracy of the procedure.

Consultation

Patients will first meet with the dentist at a free consultation appointment. Dr. Planes will talk to you about your medical history and thoroughly examine your smile. After taking detailed scans and x-rays, we will determine if implants are right for you and carefully design your treatment plan.

Planning

Using innovative digital planning technology, we craft custom surgical guides to improve the accuracy of the procedure. These guides help guide Dr. Planes while he places your implants, ensuring that each post is positioned and angled properly.

Implant Placement

On the day of the procedure, we begin by administering anesthesia and any additional sedition to ensure your total comfort. Next, Dr. Planes makes small incisions in gaps of each absent tooth and inserts the implant posts into your jaw.

Osseointegration

Over the next three to six months, your implant posts will fuse with the surrounding bone tissue in a process known as osseointegration. This stage is crucial for the long-term support of your restoration. Dr. Planes may ask you to come into our office periodically to monitor the healing process.

Abutments

When your implants have fully healed, you will return to the dentist's office for a second procedure to place abutments. Abutments are small connector pieces that allow us to secure your restoration onto the posts. After, we take impressions of your smile to design your prosthetic teeth.

Restoration

The designs and impressions are sent to our partner dental lab where technicians manufacture the custom restoration. When your implant-supported crown, bridge, or denture is ready, it is sent back to our Vero Beach office and attached to your dental arch.

How long will it take to restore my teeth?

You'll Be Smiling In No Time  With Same-Day Dental Implants

Overall, dental implant treatment will take several months, depending on how fast you heal from your procedures. While this sounds like a long time, it is important to understand you will not be without teeth for the duration of treatment. Dr. Planes proudly offers same-day dental implants, attaching a temporary restoration immediately after your implant surgery. This allows our patients in the Vero Beach and Port St. Lucie areas to maintain the appearance and function of their smiles, and go through their treatment in comfort.

I really hate going to the Dentist, so it was a real pleasant surprise coming here. The staff were so friendly and the place is bright and comforting. I was treated with respect and they took the time to explain every step. I let them know how nervous I got at previous Dentists. Im actually looking forward to getting my Dental care back on track...
